A special exhibition "Jakuchu, the Playful Painter - also featuring Korin, Okyo, Shohaku, and others - Commemorating the 220th anniversary of the artist's death" is open in OKADA MUSEUM OF ART in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, until March 28th in 2021.
Ito Jakuchu, 1716-1800, is a painter who drew many great pictures including 50 murals for Kinkakuji in Kyoto and ”Dou syoku sai e” and more. Those works made him so famous.
In this special exhibition, his 4 color works from his late 30's to his later years, his 3 india-ink paintings and so on have been exhibited. A curator of the museum said "This is the first time since 2016 that his 7 works have been exhibited together. All works show his incredible skills, so I hope many people enjoy them".
Entrance fee is 2800yen. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To prevent infection by the new coronavirus, museum staff asks visitors to use a mask and measure body temperature in the museum. Tel 0460-87-3931
