3 junior high school students in Odawara visited Odawara mayor's room to give a chairman of Odawara municipal hospital a message board to support doctors and nurses taking care of patients of COVID-19 on March 31st.
The students of Shiroyama junior high school, Sukai Tomiyama who is a president of student council, Erena Hanyama and Manaha Shimazaki, handed the chairman of the hospital, Takeo Kawaguchi, the board that is full of messages of appreciation from all the students of the school.
To prepare the message board, the 3 students asked all the students to put their appreciation down in word to support doctors. Mr. Tomiyama said, "We have got some news that doctors and nurses have been struggling with descrimination about COVID-19 recently. The news made us start taking an action to help the medical professionals''.
The chairman, Mr. Kawaguchi, talked to the students, "Some patients of COVID-19 have been hospitalized in our hospital. Recently I have heard some sad reports from our staff, for example some doctors and nurses were forced to get off taxis by taxi drivers who refused to go to our hospital. Descrimination to us clearly exists since last year. So I am so glad about the heartwarming messages from you all''.
