Ms.Tashiro performing Rakugo story
On August 5, the Odawara Police Station presented a letter of appreciation to Saori Tashiro, a freelance announcer, for her cooperation in producing a video of Rakugo (comic story telling) to raise awareness of the prevention of special fraud. At the presentation ceremony, Ms. Tashiro, whose father is Rakugo storyteller Utaharu Katsura, performed a Rakugo story.
As there has been no end to the number of victims of bank transfer scams and other frauds in the area, the police planned to raise awareness of crime prevention through video streaming on YouTube. One of the members of the police station was a classmate of Mr. Tashiro's, so he asked Mr. Tashiro to make a video, and the distribution was realized.
In the video, Mr. Tashiro tells a Rakugo story about the effectiveness of a phone with a nuisance call prevention function as a crime prevention measure. The video can be viewed on the prefectural police website.
Mr. Tashiro said, "I hope that as many people as possible will not become victims of fraud, so I tried to make the video easy to understand. We hope that the film will be widely viewed by men and women of all ages.
